A step into the past....

"The Last Of The Old West....."

Spending the whole summer in Wyoming was amazing. Along with all the neat finds and places, I found one particular that amazed me. Mormon Row is a group of buildings, from the 1900s. I found one spectacular book called "Legacy of the Tetons, Homesteading in Jackson Hole." By Candy Vyvey Moulton. Who is the author of this book, she married one of the relatives to the original row owners.
Upon my first visit to the Mormon Row, I saw buffalo enjoying the shade from the barns and houses. Then when I went closer I saw why this place is so amazing. These farmers must have been pretty darn good barn and house builders, to build a place that will withstand this much time.
This is one of my favorite stories, the one of Clark and Veda Moulton. They were the recent relatives from the Mormon Row, they lived there the last.
The Moultons owned both the barn and this first stucco house.
Some of these other homesteads were very beautiful. I'd love to share each story but they are too long and it'll ruin the fun.

Legendary Jerome,Arizona

After making a pact to go to as many places possible while living here. So to start my journey off, Jerome here we come.  A little big of history, Jerome was built on Cleopatra Hill. Native Americans were the first miners, trying to find colored stones. The Spanish followed hoping to find gold, but was lead to copper. Pioneers claimed the area in 1876 and from then the vast history began. The United Verde mining operations began in 1883. This turned the town into a little but very busy tent city. This miner town on the hill captured so many cultures; Americans, Mexicans, Croatians, Irish, Spaniards, Italians and Chinese. Flash to the future, the mines then closed in 1953.

So many tourist have gone up these stairs, they tell a little bit of history every step you go.
On each one of the buildings they have a metal plaque that states the history of each historic building. I on the other hand didn't think of taking a picture of them until after we had walked forever I didn't feel like making my friends walk all the way back with me.

Did cowboys once walk through these doors to drink and find love?

This was the main purpose of this trip. The Jerome Grand Hotel, Once was a hospital.

A detailed town map.
Throughout this long day we needed food, so we decided to eat at the Haunted Hamburger.
I'd eat here any day of the week, I recommend it before a long day of walking.
This town is only part of what we plan on visiting :)
For the ghost hunter side of you, this town is supposedly haunted, now I don't know where your views are on this so I'll let you take an adventure to this place and find out for yourself. If you do have an "experience" feel free to let me know :)

Valentine's Day Delights

Yummy Treats
These delicious delights are easy to make.
I used semi sweet chocolate chips but any will do, I melted them in a glass bowl that was smaller then this measuring cup. I added water in the measuring cup and put the smaller bowl over it. Then added my chocolate chips and milk.
This is what the chocolate looked like after two minutes, be careful that the water doesn't touch the bottom of the smaller bowl.
I used a ice pick to put in the center of the strawberries and dip them in chocolate and swirled it around. Then I allowed them to cool in refrigerator while i worked on the white chocolate.
Here is the white chocolate, I added milk and did everything like the regular semi sweet chocolate.

The final project is shown here and absolutely delicious :)
Next time I think I'll use milk chocolate.

Finally Found a Vanity

"Vanities are never going to go out of style..."
I love antique shops, ever since I was little I would love to just explore all the neat finds that are hidden in every corner. Another love of mine is vanities, I remember when I was little and pretending to put make up on when my nana was putting her's on and doing her hair. So this find was a spectacular one. Using my mama's crafty help we decided to redo this older vanitythat is chipped on the corners and missing paint on the legs.
Sanding is something, I defintely never have liked. I used our new little hand sander which was simple and very quiet. At first we used a tougher pad because I wanted to remove the flower that was on top mainly. So using the sander I went the same way everytime and went slow. A few sander pads later the flower painting on top was gone. I continued with the rougher pad to take the paint off the top. Once that was gone it looked like this:

I then started to primer and took my time. I let that dry and it came out like this :
